Founded in 1991

RARE Aircraft Ltd is a family owned and operated aviation company dedicated to the restoration of Antique Aircraft.

When you commission the restoration of a vintage aircraft, choosing the right team is essential to protecting both the success of the project and the long-term value of your aircraft. At the heart of RARE Aircraft Ltd.’s business is an unwavering commitment to award-winning restoration quality. That legacy dates back to the legendary “Four-Time Grand Champion” Stinson Reliant featured in Sport Aviation (November 1982), and it continues today—every restoration RARE Aircraft has exhibited has earned a national award.

RARE Aircraft Ltd. operates from a 25,000-square-foot facility at the Faribault Municipal Airport (FBL), just 45 miles south of Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport. Our in-house capabilities are comprehensive, including a dedicated wood department that routinely builds complete wing sets, a full welding shop handling everything from fuselage fabrication to tanks and precision repairs, and complete sheet metal and machining operations. These resources are complemented by our trademark Grand Champion–caliber fabric and paint work. We are proud of our team, skills, and facility, and we welcome prospective clients to visit in person—encouraging anyone considering a restoration project with RARE to schedule a visit before moving forward.
